2000words

Pick how much language you want.

Every plan is the same method — frequency first, produced rather than recognised, scheduled with FSRS. What you are choosing is how many languages, and whether you want the two thousand words or just enough to land.

14 days of it free, no card, started when you are ready to use it.

Prices follow the country's average income. Tell us where you are and they adjust.

Questions a price list ought to answer

  1. 1

What happens to my words if I stop paying?

Nothing is deleted. Your queue, your cards and your streaks are stored per language and stay exactly where they were — a lapsed plan drops you to one new word a day, and resubscribing picks the course back up mid-sentence.

  2. 2

Can I change which languages a plan covers?

Yes, from your profile, whenever you like. Swapping a language out does not lose its progress; it is still there if you swap it back. Adding one is a line on the same subscription rather than a different tier, and past the third language everything costs less than the languages separately.

  3. 3

Why is the travel booklet not a subscription?

Because a phrasebook is not a habit. You buy one language's booklet once, for the price of a coffee, and it is yours — there is nothing to cancel and nothing renews. It gives you that language's phrases, properly taught and reviewed, and none of the two thousand words: the right trade for a trip three weeks away and the wrong one for learning a language.

  4. 4

Why do I pay less than someone in Paris?

Prices follow the average income of the country you say you live in: at or above a threshold you pay the full price, and below it the price falls with the income. Hosting this costs about the same whatever anyone pays, so charging Manila what Paris pays would not earn more — it would simply mean nobody in Manila could learn the language spoken there. Nothing is verified; you tell us where you are.

  5. 5

    What does cancelling do?

It stops the renewal. You keep everything until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you can undo it before then.

  6. 6

    Is there a trial?

14 days of one language, started from your profile whenever you like, once per account. It takes no card and it does not turn into a subscription: on the last day it simply stops and you are back to one word a day, with everything you learned still there. 14 days rather than a week because the thing worth trying is the review coming back, and a word buried today is next due around day ten.
